CARE

All OJAS Studio pieces are made from sterling silver or brass, and may include natural gemstones, oxidised finishes, or hand-applied patinas. Each piece is unique and requires gentle care to preserve its character over time.

Silver Care

Silver naturally tarnishes with wear and exposure to air, moisture, and skin. This is normal and part of the material’s living quality.
To clean, gently polish with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials or chemical cleaners.

Brass Care

Brass develops a natural patina over time which adds depth and character to the piece. To slow this process, wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. To restore brightness, gently polish with a brass-specific cloth or a small amount of lemon juice and salt, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

Storage

Store your pieces individually in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity. A small pouch or box helps prevent scratching and slows tarnishing.

Wear

Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising, or applying perfume, oils, or lotions. These can accelerate tarnishing and affect the finish of both silver and brass.
Oxidised & Patinated Pieces
Some pieces feature intentional oxidised or darkened finishes. These are delicate — avoid polishing cloths on darkened areas as this will remove the finish. Clean only with a soft damp cloth.

Gemstones

If your piece contains natural stones, avoid submerging in water or exposing to harsh chemicals. Wipe gently with a dry cloth only.
